River Forest Community School Corporation

Our District

Dr. Steven Disney
Thank you for visiting the River Forest School Corporation website.
My name is Steven Disney and I am honored to serve as superintendent for the River Forest Community School Corporation. River Forest encompasses the communities of Hobart Township and the City of Lake Station. River Forest Schools have a proud history of community support andsuccessful programs including excellent band, choir, academic and athletic teams. We celebrate our cultural diversity of our students and community and believe that this is the cornerstone of who we are. River Forest curricular structure includes Evans and Meister Elementary Schools that serve students in grades K-5. River Forest Middle School serving students in grades 6-8. River Forest High School grades 9-12. We also host an alternative school for grades 7-12, and we partner with Merrillville Community Schools to provide high school students with opportunities in Career and Technical Education. River Forest partners with the Northwest Indiana Boys and Girls Club to provide onsite after school programs that deliver character building, academic support, and life skills for River Forest students and support for River Forest families. The key to success of any school corporation depends upon parents, community patrons, school board members, administrators, teachers, and staff working together for the benefit of the children we serve. I welcome the participation of the community in our schools and ask for your cooperation in our most important endeavor, educating our students and preparing them for their future. My responsibility as superintendent is to prepare the corporation and plan for the future pertaining to areas of Curriculum and Instruction, Staff Development, Facilities, Budget, and Finance. I welcome you to visit our school websites and encourage you to contact our school buildings with any questions you may have.
Go Ingots!
