[River Forest, IN] – February 2025 – The River Forest Middle School Science Olympiad team made an impressive debut at the 2025 Science Olympiad Competition, competing against seasoned teams in a variety of challenging STEM events. Despite being a small but mighty group of six sixth graders, these young scientists tackled advanced labs and tests in subjects ranging from Forensics to Ecology.
Three students earned top placements in two events, demonstrating their hard work and dedication:
Hunter Potchen placed 5th in Botany
Landon Olivarri & Felipe Tapia placed in Code Busters
The team, consisting of Peyton Sullivan, Felipe Tapia, Logan Olivarri, Landon Olivarri, Jesus Mendez Garcia, and Gabriel Moreno, showcased their passion for science and problem-solving. Their strong performance in their first-ever competition sets the stage for future success in the Science Olympiad.
