We made it through week 1.
Next week is Spring Break, so no e-Learning. Monday 3/30, and Tuesday 3/31, are planning days for staff to prepare for the days ahead. Our e-Learning will resume on Wednesday, 4/1. Try to relax next week as we practice social distancing... and remember to wash your hands often!

Just to be clear about the closure...we are off school until Friday, April 10th.
This coming Monday, March 16th, is a planning day for teachers, and Tuesday, March 17th - Friday, March 20th, will be 4 e-Learning days for students.
We will all be off the week of March 23rd for Spring Break (no e-learning that week) then have 2 weeks of e-learning from Monday, March 30th - Friday, April 10th.
Yearbook orders are due on Monday, March 16th. They are $17. Please make sure you place your order!
STEM Night Tonight at Meister!
We will open the doors at 4:30 and it will end at 6:00.
There will be a lot of fun stations planned, including making slime and writing computer codes!
We are excited to see you tonight so be sure to come back for this exciting event!
RFCSC Summer School dates: Wednesday, June 3 to Tuesday, June 23. 8am to 12pm daily.
Remember Daylight Savings is this weekend! Set your clocks ahead 1 hour!
Please join us next Tuesday, March 10, in the Meister cafeteria for an evening of FUN science experiments!
There is no cost to for this event, but we need your response slips returned by Friday so we can plan for enough students. This event begins at 4:30 and will end at 6:00.
Some of the activities that we have planned are:
-making Oobleck (gooey slime)
-breaking a code and writing messages with Morse code
-making bouncy balls and measuring how high they bounce
-learning about forensic work and exploring our own fingerprints
-experimenting with static electricity
-making a travelling rainbow

Mrs. Wheeler’s 1st grade studied planets and made these awesome projects and Mrs. Wiltermood’s 2nd grade class wrote their version of Jack and the Beanstalk.

Thursday, February 13th, is an e-Learning day for all River Forest schools due to the weather. Meister teachers will be available between 9am and 3pm. Check take home folders for the reminder note to help you get logged in to their Google Classroom. Remember to switch accounts if you have multiple children. Be sure to click on the “Attendance” button so we count you present! We will see you back on Tuesday since we are already off school Friday and Monday.
School has been canceled for today, Thursday, February 13th. Because of this all students will participate in a eLearning day. Students do not report to school on eLearning days and will be able to contact their teachers to log on beginning at 9am.
All schools will be on a two hour delay Thursday, February 13th. Students should be at bus stops two hours later than the normal pick up time. School doors will open two hours later than normal. Elementary schools will not be serving breakfast.
We will have a 2 hour delay on Thursday, February 6. Buses will run two hours later than normal and we will open our doors 2 hours later than normal at 10:05am. Class will begin at 10:45am. Breakfast will not be served so please be sure students eat at home. We will dismiss at our normal 3:10pm time.
