Community Eligibility Provision Notification
Dear Parent or Guardian:
We are pleased to inform you that the River Forest Community School Corporation will be implementing the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for meals served on the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program for the 2023-2024 school year.
All students enrolled within the district are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at school at no charge each day of the 2023-2024 school year. No further action is required of you. Your child(ren) will be able to participate in these meal programs without having to pay a fee or submit an application.

Effective June 6th, a River Forest Community School Corporation Board of School Trustees member seat became vacant. Any individual who is interested and resides in the River Forest Community School Corporation district is asked to please contact River Forest School Board clerk Diana Villarreal via email at dvillarreal@rfcsc.k12.in.us and provide a statement of interest and contact information. All information should be submitted by June 16, 2023. The School Board will review candidates and make the determination on the new member of the board.
Applicants should address their information to River Forest School Board President Steve Kissel.
Summer School Bus Routes
Please join us for the End of Year Celebration and Open House on Saturday, June 3rd at 2915 E. 35th Ave. (Evans Elementary) from 12-3pm. Meister and Evans current and prospective students and families are welcome.
The School Board meeting originally scheduled for March 21, 2023 has been moved to Thursday, March 16 at 6:00 in the RFI Learning Center.
Friday, March 3rd is an eLearning day with live teaching. Middle and High School Students need to be logged into their Google Classrooms beginning at 7:50am. Dear Evans and Meister first grade parents,
In accordance with state law IC 20-8.1-7-16, every child in either kindergarten or first grade shall be given an annual vision screen using the modified clinical technique or MCT by a licensed optometrist.
On January 10th, 2023, both Evans and Meister will be having an optometrist come from the Indiana Optometric Association to perform the MCT vision screen on all first graders. There will be no charge for these thorough examinations and parents will receive a copy of their child's exam results. Referrals for further treatment will be provided if needed.
If you have any questions or concerns about this test or wish for your student to not participate, please call your building nurse.

Due to staff shortage at all buildings, all River Forest schools will be on e-Learning for Monday, November 14, 2022.
Students do not report to school on e-Learning days and will be able to contact their teachers for login detail. Please visit the River Forest Schools website for any other pertinent information.

Free/Reduced meal status along with Textbook assistance from the previous school year will expire on September 26th. An updated application must be received by September 26th in order to update your student’s meal and textbook assistance status. Invoices will be mailed in October for any household who has not applied for or received textbook assistance.
