Tuesday, March 30th, is an early release day due to Parent Teacher Conferences. Students will be dismissed at 1:45pm and conferences will be online or by phone from 2:00-6:30pm.
River Forest Welcomes Parents:
Jermaine Galloway, the "Tall Cop" is presenting to the community on April 13th 6-7:30 PM. Hobart High School Great Hall - Enter Door 1. The presentation with Jermaine will be virtual, but parents will come in-person due to the content. No children will be allowed.
March is Developmental Disability Awareness Month Miss Murphy, our special education teacher, and Miss Ploszaj, our counselor, have collaborated to put together a Spirit Week for next week (March 15th-March 19th).

We are having dollar pajama day Friday to raise money for a former Meister student who has been dealing with an illness. You are free to wear pajamas that are APPROPRIATE for one dollar. If you choose, you can donate above that by putting money in an envelope with the student's and teacher's name on it.
Requests to Change Forms were due Monday, March 8th so we can organize rosters and reshuffle for those changing plans (in-person & virtual). The link is no longer active past the due date.
There will be a cereal and milk distribution for Lake Station Residents this Thursday, March 4th, at Riverview Park. It will begin at 3:00pm and they have 800 cereal boxes and milk available. There are 2 attachments in English and Spanish below with more details.
March 1st - 5th is Dr. Seuss Week and we have some Spirit Days planned (see the image of the flyer going home). This is also a week to encourage reading, so take time to read a book, even one you have read before, because good readers reread good books! We hope you all participate in the Spirit Days whether you are in-person or virtual!

Due to difficulty in clearing snow from streets and bus stops and continued treacherous travel conditions, River Forest Schools will continue to be on eLearning for tomorrow, February 17th. Due to the inclement weather, the executive session and School Board meeting set for tonight have been changed to Thursday, February 18th 2021. The executive session will be held from 5:30pm -7:00 pm and the school board meeting will be held at 7:00 pm. in the RFHS Auditorium in the round. In the event of inclement weather on that night, both meetings will be held virtually.

Friday, Feb 5th is an e-Learning day due to the weather. Meister Vikings should be online at 9am and complete the work teachers have posted on their Google Classroom pages. We emailed a helpful reminder page to the parent or guardians listen in Harmony and posted a link to it on our Facebook page and school website as well. Be sure you go to your Google Classroom and click on the attendance link so we know you were present, but more than just clicking that link, you must complete your work so your teacher knows you really were present today. Let's show we can practice the Lifelong Guideline of Trustworthiness and the Life Skills of responsibility, integrity, and our current Life Skill, organization!
